Audi A3 Sedan Unveiled

Audi finally took the cover of the much awaited A3 sedan. Audi A3 sedan is a direct rival for Mercedes CLA. Audi will bring the A3 sedan to India next year. A3 sedan will be positioned below the A4 and it will be the cheapest Audi in India. Audi released the A3 sedan details before the official unveiling at the Shanghai Motor show next month. Audi A3 sedan is based on the Audi A3 sportback. Audi A3 sedan is built on Volkswagen MQB Platform. Audi A3 sedan measures 4.46 m in length and 1.8 m of width. Audi has given big boot for the A3 sedan which is 425 L.

Audi A3 sedan take design inspirations from A3 sportback. Audi A3 sedan follows the new age design philosophy of other Audi cars. Audi describe the A3 design as “a cross between a classic three-box concept and the coupe philosophy”. Audi offers a wider variety of engines options for the A3 sedan. But when A3 sedan comes to India. Audi will offer 1.8 L TFSI engine which produces 180 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. Diesel engine is 2.0 L TDI which makes 150 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. All these engines will be mated to 7 speed dual clutch S-Tronic Transmission. Performance numbers are mind blowing 0-100 comes in 7.3 seconds and Top speed of 235 Kmph for the 1.8 L TFSI engine. While the 2.0 L TDI engine get 0-100 in 8.7 seconds and Top speed of 220 Kmph. All these power is transmitted to the front wheels. According to the company both these engine offers good efficiency 1.8 L TFSI gives 17.85 Kmpl and the 2.0 TDI gives 24.39 Kmpl.

Audi also announced the S3 sedan which is the performance version of A3 sedan.S3 sedan is powered by 2.0 TFSI engine which makes 300 BHP of power and 380 Nm of Torque.0-100 comes in 4.9 seconds and Top speed is electronically stopped at 250 Kmph. Audi offers so many features in the A3 sedan like MMI,Navigation system and voice control system. Sales of Audi A3 sedan will start before the end of this year in Europe. For the base petrol variant of Audi A3 sedan is priced at $32,150 ( RS 17.45 Lakhs) in Europe. Audi will assemble the A3 sedan in India to reduce the price tag. So We can expect the price to be starting at RS 25 Lakhs.
